Meet the Founders

 

Greg Abel - Principal

 

Greg has worked in journalism, PR, marketing, and corporate communications for the past 15 years.

 

His career began in print journalism as a reporter, and other media roles have included freelance magazine writer, sports radio host, and TV copywriter.

 

On the PR side, Greg’s positions have included Director of Athlete and Corporate Communications for Octagon, one of the world’s largest sports marketing firms; Director of Communications for Aether Systems, Inc., a publicly-traded wireless data company; and Director with Qorvis Comminications, a prominent D.C. PR firm. In 2005, Greg started his own agency, Abel Communications, and has grown the business steadily since.

 

Mike Sweeney - Principal

 

Mike is an accomplished marketing professional with nearly 15 years of experience leading in-house marketing teams and serving as a consultant to a variety of organizations in industries such as software/technology, professional services, media and entertainment, retail and telecommunications.  Mike's firm, Right Source Marketing, was founded in 2006 and provides clients with a unique blend of strategic consulting and interactive marketing services.

 

Prior to founding Right Source Marketing, Mike served as the Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Angel.com, a subsidiary of MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), one of the largest software companies in the Washington, D.C. area.  Prior to Angel.com, Mike served as the Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Sandbox.com, one of the leaders in the online gaming space that was eventually acquired by NBC Universal.
